Shannon's Story
"I never had any interest in sewing! I dreaded taking Home Economics in school, because it involved learning how to sew!"
Shannon grew up in sunny St. Augustine, Florida; where she was surrounded by the warm air and balmy breezes of this artist's haven. She credits her inspiration to that creativity and the example of her talented mother, who herself is a gifted seamstress. "Then a few years ago a friend bought a machine and started making all sorts of things: curtains, clothes, and even bags. I fell in love and HAD to learn to sew. That year I received my own machine as a gift, took a crash course in sewing basics, and the rest is history!"
Last year Shananagins Bags was proud to announce a new arrival to the Shananagins family: baby cakes, a little division of Shananagins, was delivered to cater to our littlest customers and their mommies. An entire line of baby bags and accessories were developed to meet both of their needs and tastes.
All of Shannon's bags are custom designed and handmade by her personally. In fact things are going so well and orders are abundant enough that Shananagins Bags may be expanding its work force soon to include Shannon' s talented mother as well!
